what is my story?
This past weekend was quite a blur and I honestly lost track of time. In the midst of studying, I filmed a video for Asian Kaleidoscope Month defining this year’s theme, what’s your story? Although I didn’t have a concrete idea of what the theme to my video is, Jon DelRosario was able to freely capture some footage that basically sums up… me. I probably chose the worst day...

The setting for the first picture reminds me of the 1950’s and eludes a sense of Western romanticism. It amazes me how each photo evokes a different feeling and has its own unique, yet cohesive story.

DIY: Ribbon Tiered Necklace
For awhile I have been pushing myself to make jewelry pieces since accessories can enhance any outfit. DIY: Braid Updo
Although hair is nowhere near my area of expertise, I thought it’d be fun to make a tutorial of this updo that I’ve been wearing a lot lately. The hairstyle requires curling and French braiding techniques, but overall it is extremely simple. With a few bobby pins and flowers (optional), this hairdo can be worn casually or for a special occasion!

DIY: Home Decorating
I love personalizing my bedroom and apartment with simple and easy-to-make decor items. I bought blue suede and olive green linen fabric from Joann Fabrics to construct a throw pillow cover and some place mats. Cutting them into square shapes, I sewed the two sides together and turned them inside out to hide the seam lines. Finally, I stuffed a pillow (any old, unwanted pillow) inside the cover...

100% Silk fabric is one of the most high-quality and lightweight fabric. Fortunately I was able to find some in several colors and prints at Jay’s Fabric Store. I’ve always loved bright colors and floral prints, which are great elements for the Spring season. I’m definitely excited and I can’t wait to start sewing again!
